Lost In Space
Myspace hit the headlines this week for having lost 12 years worth of music. It wasn’t the work of hackers, but instead a server migration error. This must be devastating to some artists, while others may have forgotten they’d ever uploaded anything 12 years ago.
It got me thinking – I’ve really taken for granted my online presence and even my online security. This is even with an increasing number of online scares regarding personal information being harvested everywhere from social media companies to banking organisations.
I was sent a link recently from a friend regarding this and was quite surprised at what I found. Thankfully, I seem to have escaped some online breaches of confidentiality. But there were a few that turned up that I wasn’t even aware of. I’d totally forgotten I’d ever had an account with Myspace.
Since then I’ve updated my passwords – or have been forced to, but here’s the link if you’re interested in some old school security breaches.
