Our Challenge

The Marker Hotel, a member of the prestigious Leading Hotels of the World Group, approached us with the challenge of taking its new brand mark and design system and finding highly creative ways to roll it out across all brand touch-points.

The architecture of the brand draws on the elemental nature of the Irish landscape and combines it with a sharp urban aesthetic. However, the brand philosophy is firmly rooted in the exceptional standards of service that are the signature of a member of the Leading Hotels of the World Group.

Our challenge was to maintain the core values of the master brand while also carving out a distinct personality, which reflected The Marker’s Irish roots too. We consulted on every aspect of the process, from signage, to in-room branding, to front and back of house, packaging, promotions and web.

Our Solution

A key part of the branding process was to create a unique brand language that really captured the essence of the brand. We crafted a distinct brand language and tone of voice made a connection with the key consumer segments, helping them to connect and make sense of the new brand. This was applied across brochures, menus and the website.

One of the most fun concepts we worked on was the ‘Spapas’ express beauty treatments sub brand. We came up with the idea of taking the key elements of each treatment and transforming them into delicious ‘tapas’. We also art directed the shoot, styling the shots so that they looked good enough to eat! The images enjoyed rave reviews in several magazines and Weekend supplements.

Always first in line to pick up on the latest food trends, The Marker has grabbed a new concept that’s taking Paris by storm – Le Drunch. We worked closely with them to create a menu and promotional campaign that captures that Sunday afternoon feeling when you need to gently ease yourself into the week ahead!
